Alex Gum

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved to Huntsville, Alabama at the age of three with my parents and younger sister. I attended Catholic High School and Huntsville High School (Class of 2004), then went on to Birmingham-Southern College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, graduating in 2009. After college, I spent several years living in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Nashville, Tennessee before returning to North Alabama in 2017—a move that reaffirmed my desire to build a career rooted in long-term relationships.

I began my State Farm Agency journey in July 2020 with David Perkins State Farm and became an Agent Aspirant that October. My vision and “why” are deeply people centered. I believe in State Farm not only as an Agent, but as a lifelong customer—following a family legacy that dates back to the 1940s. My passion for State Farm, especially life insurance, is personal. After losing my mother at age 47 to a brain aneurysm, I saw firsthand the impact of protection and care during life’s most difficult moments. She had a rare ability to make people feel truly seen, and I strive to bring that same authenticity into every conversation. I’m grateful, thankful, and truly blessed to serve as a State Farm Agent.
